Eucharist, also called Holy Communion or Lord’s Supper, in Christianity, ritual commemoration of Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples. The Eucharist (from the Greek eucharistia for “thanksgiving”) is the central act of Christian worship and is practiced by most Christian churches in some form. Along with baptism it is one of the two sacraments most clearly found in the New Testament. Origin in Scripture The story of the institution of the Eucharist by Jesus on the night before his Crucifixion is reported in the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew 26:26–28; Mark 14:22–24; and Luke 22:17–20) and in the First Letter of Paul to the Corinthians (I Corinthians 11:23–25). According to the Gospel accounts, Jesus established the practice at the Last Supper, a traditional Passover seder, when he blessed the bread, which he said was his body, and shared it with his disciples. God's word is like bread

Bread is an essential item for living life, which provides nutrients to our body and keeps us healthy. But the Lord Jesus said that man will live not only by bread, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God, that is, by the word of God. (Matthew 4:4) This is what the Lord Jesus said from Deuteronomy 8:3 of the Old Testament. And it was explained that Lord Jesus is the bread of life, who came to this earth to give abundant life, the word of God is like bread, the word of God is like bread (John 10:10) And we are God's word to Christ like bread because bread helps to build and nourish our physical body. The Word of God nourishes our spiritual life, and every true Christ looks forward to a spiritual life more than a physical life when he accepts God as his Savior.
