Follow the path of righteousness

Image
Isaiah 48:17 says, "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go." When God created you, He prepared a life for you with a purpose and a way to fulfill that purpose. This purpose is the reason why you were created and brought here on Earth by God. And I want to assure you that if you follow this path, you will succeed in your life and fulfill God's purpose. God knows that with your human understanding, you can not know and follow this path. That's why in His word, He says He is the one who teaches you and guides you. First, He teaches you to know this path, and then He guides you on how to walk in it. The word says he directs you in the way you should go, meaning you don't have alternatives. This is a path you must follow. This path is a set of God's guidance and principles that you should follow as long as you live on this earth. The question I ask you today is: Which way did you use to get the job you

No Greater Love

Image
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13   Yesterday, we shared about the power of Jesus, but what is even more astounding about Jesus is His love for people. When the angry mob and guards came to arrest Jesus, Peter drew his sword and cut off the ear of a servant of the high priest. Peter did this to defend Jesus, but Jesus reprimanded Peter and then healed the man’s ear. Then Jesus made a profound statement. He said, “Do you not think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?” (Matthew 26:53) In Roman culture, twelve legions would have equated to 72,000 angels! In the book of Chronicles, just one angel killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. Jesus was saying no man could take His life.   In John 10:18, Jesus says, “No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up.” It wasn’t t

God’s First Commission To Us

“Fill the earth and govern it.” Genesis 1:28  The first thing God told Adam and Eve to do was “fill the earth and govern it.” Because Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden doesn’t mean they were limited to the Garden of Eden. God told them to “fill the earth and govern it.” Stop and think about it. God was inviting Adam and Eve to explore. Everything outside Eden was uncharted territory. They could travel 24,759 miles in any direction and never see the same landscape twice. There were 196,949,970 square miles of virgin territory to explore. One way we glorify God is by exploring and educating ourselves about everything He has created. One author explains: “The astronomer who charts the stars, the geneticist who maps the human genome, the researcher who seeks a cure for Parkinson’s disease, the oceanographer who explores the barrier reef, the ornithologist who studies and preserves rare bird species, the physicist who tries to catch quarks, the chemist who chart

Power Over Sin

Image
Those who belong to Christ have nailed their natural evil desires to his cross and crucified them there. —Galatians 5:24  The strength for our conquering and our victory is drawn continually from Christ. The Bible does not teach that sin is completely eradicated from the Christian in this life, but it does teach that sin shall no longer reign over you. The strength and power of sin have been broken. The Christian now has resources available to live above and beyond this world. The Bible teaches that whosoever is born of God does not practice sin. It is like the little girl who said that when the devil came knocking with a temptation, she just sent Jesus to the door.

Loneliness.

Image
My heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God. Psalm 84:2 Loneliness is one of the greatest problems people face today. It is a leading cause of suicide-that is now the third greatest killer of students in the United States. People feel various kinds of loneliness. One of the most common is the loneliness of solitude. Or there is the loneliness of suffering. Many people experience loneliness in society, or there is the loneliness of sorrow, guilt, and judgment. All of us feel at times a loneliness for God. Someone has called it cosmic loneliness. We don’t know what it is. It makes us restless. You see, man was made for God; and without God, he is lonely. But Jesus is knocking at the door of our heart, saying, “I want to come in. Let me in.” He doesn’t push His way through that door. We have to open it and invite Him in; when we do, He comes in to live forever and we are never lonely again.

Spiritual Oxygen: Are You Getting it?

Image
‌“Breathe in…breathe out…. You do it 12-14 times a minute without thinking”, says Stacey W. Breathing is a miracle we don’t stop to think about very much. We just do it. It keeps us alive. In the same amazing way God has given us as Christians a way to “breathe spiritually” for our spiritual well-being. Spiritual breathing, like physical breathing, is a process of exhaling the impure and inhaling the pure. It can become a way of life. But the average Christian does not understand this concept and as a result lives on a spiritual roller coaster, controlling his or her own, life resulting in frustration. On our own we may at times have a fresh start in life only to lose it again – negative thoughts, angry words, slammed doors…… How could this change? It could change by learning and applying the concept of spiritual breathing, which is like physical breathing in that: 1.You “exhale” by confessing your sins as soon as you become aware of it, and claim God’s forgiveness…. And t

Do we feel something when we get saved?

Image
If being saved has some kind of feeling involved some Christians experience feelings of great joy and gladness when they first accept the Lord. Others may not have these feelings of great joy and these get discouraged by their lack of emotions and wonder have they been really saved? The Bible tells us that salvation is not built on feelings rather it is built on knowing Christ (Ephesians 2:20). The Christian doesn’t establish his faith on feelings rather than facts. The Christian’s experience is set primarily on the Truth (John 16:13). Christians are called to be spiritual people (Galatians 6:1). We are “partakers of…spiritual things” (Romans 15:27). We are to “walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). We must “worship the Father in spirit” (John 4:23-24). We are building a “spiritual house…to offer up spiritual sacrifices” (1 Peter 2:5). Israel had “a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge” (Romans 10:2). The Holy Spirit educates the mind to accept God’s cal

You read this verse and understand what God is telling you and what God wants from you Believe that Jesus is God's son who was sent as a sacrifice.  The Bible says that Jesus was a man who was killed for his radical teachings about God. He was hung from a cross until he died. Then, 3 days later, the Bible says Jesus rose from the dead and left his tomb, and by conquering death, he created a bridge between sin and God.[6] ‌ In order to understand how Jesus' death was payment for our sins, it helps to know that in the Old Testament, people were commanded by God to make sacrifices of their animals and crops in order to attain God's forgiveness. God sent His son Jesus to Earth to take the place of those sacrificial ceremonies, earning forgiveness for all people. ‌ John 3:16, one of the most well-known scriptures in the Bible, describes Jesus&#

What Is the Relationship Between Teaching and Signs in the Bible? Part–1

You read this verse and understand what God is telling you and what God wants from you. In the Hebrew Bible To further understand the relationship between teaching and signs, let’s get a quick overview of how these words are used in the story of the Bible. The Hebrew word for sign is ’ot. When we track this word through the Old Testament, we learn that signs are given to warn people, execute divine judgement, and deliver people from oppression (e.g., Israel’s exodus from Egypt). Signs are also given to guide and mark sacred time. For example, they are assigned to each covenant, confirm divine directions, memorialize instances of God’s miraculous protection, and highlight laws that mark sacred days and years (e.g., the Sabbath and circumcision). Lastly, Isaiah prophesies about a sign that would lead to the birth of Immanuel, meaning “God with us,” and another that

Faith and Works.

You read this verse and understand what God is telling you and what God wants from you. “Without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6) . There are many in the Christian world who claim that all that is necessary to salvation is to have faith; works are nothing, faith is the only essential. But God's Word tells us that faith without works is dead, being alone. Many refuse to obey God's commandments, yet they make a great deal of faith. But faith must have a foundation.  God's promises are all made upon conditions. If we do His will, if we walk in truth, then we may ask what we will, and it shall be done unto us. While we earnestly endeavor to be obedient, God will hear our petitions; but He will not bless us in disob

Repentance a Gift of God

Image
Note..:- Please read this blog till the ending. May the Today Bible verses help you build a spiritual relationship with God. You read this verse and understand what God is telling you and what God wants from you. Repentance, as well as forgiveness, is the gift of God through Christ. It is through the influence of the Holy Spirit that we are convicted of sin and feel our need of pardon. None but the contrite are forgiven; but it is the grace of God that makes the heart penitent. He is acquainted with all our weaknesses and infirmities, and He will help us.  Some who come to God by repentance and confession, and even believe that their sins are forgiven, still fail of claiming, as they should, the promises of God. They do not see that Jesus is an ever-present Saviour; and they are not ready to commit the keeping of their souls to Him, relying upon Him to perfect the work of grace begun in their hearts. While they think they are committing themselves to God, there is a great d
