What is the living hope in 1 Peter 1:3?

First Peter 1:3 says, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." The Apostle Peter begins his letter with words of praise for God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, reminding readers that salvation is a gift of God's mercy. Peter then said that believers are given "a living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." What does Peter really mean when he speaks of a “living hope”? Peter says it is the "new birth" that provides our living hope, affirming that salvation is a gift from God. Just as a baby doesn't have to do anything to be born, we experience the new birth not because of who we are or anything we have done. We are born of God through the resurrection of Jesus from the dead (John 1:13). Salvation brings about a transformation of who we are (2 Corinthians 5
